Shanghai Mermaid’s annual Victorian Seance is a highly anticipated (as always) soireé held during the bustling NYC Halloween season. Guests dressed in 1920’s vintage, as well as victorian mourning attire, hoping to mingle with the dearly departed. Several of the guests mentioned feeling a rather cold chill —perhaps passing an apparition or two—while traversing the stairs. The highlight of the evening’s entertainment was a fabulous Burlesque performer— who no doubt made a few pale victorian cheeks blush! This year’s Shanghai Mermaid Victorian Seance was held at the lovely Beaux-Arts style 1899 New York Estonian House.
